I'm Christina, and I have nearly two decades of experience creating, scaling, and optimizing social impact organizations. As the co-founder/executive director of a national immigrant rights nonprofit for over a decade, I know how exciting and challenging it is to be a social entrepreneur. I worked with an incredible team to grow an idea into an organization with over 7,000 volunteers and a dozen employees operating in 26 states, and raised over $10M in funding to change state and federal policy on immigration detention.
I also have had the pleasure of training the next generation of social entrepreneurs at UCSD Rady School of Management as their first Social Entrepreneur in Residence and at USC Marshall School of Business as the Managing Director of their center on social enterprise. Currently, I am a board member of Still Bisexual, and have served on various other domestic and international nonprofit boards including the ACLU and the International Detention Coalition.
I am skilled at elevating expert voices to shift culture and challenge injustices. You may have seen my bylines in a variety of places, including the Los Angeles Times, Forbes, USA Today, Salon.com, and The Hill. I am currently a communications and field building consultant for a $50M collaborative fund. Previously, I served as a script consultant on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black and worked with Grammy-winning artist Miguel to garner attention for immigrant rights through the creation of his music video “Now”.
I enjoy helping organizations at all stages of growth achieve their fullest potential. I have helped early stage founders incorporate their social enterprise as well as assisted established organizations manage all operational and financial facets of the business. Whether you need ongoing support with a fractional COO embedded into your team or project-based support to tackle your biggest needs, I look forward to connecting!
My approach is informed by my own lived experience as a bi queer woman who grew up in a family of immigrants. When I am not working with mission-driven founders and organizations, you can find me writing socially engaged fiction and changing the narrative on bi+ people through my organization Rewrite the BiLine.
I can’t wait to meet you and help you and your organization thrive!
For my work in the social enterprise and social justice spaces, I have received:
2024 Echoing Green Catalytic Grant (for Rewrite the BiLine)
